Policy on Covid-19 vaccination

The latest information about Covid-19 in Cambridge, including rules and guidance, can be found on the university and Pembroke College websites.

International Programmes will not require proof of vaccination as a prerequisite for participation in any of our programmes, whether as a student or member of staff.

We recognise that not everyone may have the opportunity to be fully vaccinated before their programme, and some may be unable to receive a vaccination for medical or other reasons.

However, we strongly encourage all students and staff who are able to do so to take the vaccine when offered, if it is medically appropriate for you to do so.

While vaccination is no guarantee that you will not contract or spread the virus, it is one important way that we can help ensure the health and safety of everyone involved in our programmes, and hopefully minimise any disruption to your experience with us.

Travelling to the UK

Anyone travelling from overseas should consult the UK government website for the latest information about travelling to England and in particular the requirements for vaccination, testing and/or quarantine for incoming travellers. These requirements can change at short notice, so please check this information regularly.

In some cases, your vaccination status may affect the rules that apply to you when you arrive in the UK, particularly regarding self-isolation or testing requirements.

Regrettably, on our vacation programmes we are not able to provide accommodation or other support during any period of self-isolation required due to international travel.

Students will be asked for details of vaccination status and travel itinerary prior to the start of the programme. You should read the UK government guidance carefully and discuss your travel plans with your home institution’s study abroad office if you have any questions about the requirements.

If a student or member of staff living in College accommodation is required to self-isolate during their programme due to testing positive for Covid-19 or being identified as a close contact, we will provide support in terms of deliveries of food and other essential supplies. More information will be shared with you closer to the start of your programme.
